img_4342Hello, everyone, and welcome to my portfolio. As of May 2021, I’m currently working at Panini America, Inc. as a staff writer. Prior to my current role, I spent three years as a sports reporter for Fort Walton Beach’s Northwest Florida Daily News in December 2020, and I hold a bachelor’s degree in sports media from Oklahoma State University earned in May 2017.

Originally from Mansfield, Texas, I moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma, in August 2015 to pursue a career in the sports media industry. That career began in the Sunshine State before I returned to the Lone Star State at the end of 2020.

At Panini, I write concise, creative and informative copy for the backs of sports trading cards, using information obtained from databases, news outlets and social media. My work includes MLB, NBA, NFL and NCAA football and basketball programs, though I’m working to improve my knowledge of European and international football to contribute to those programs, as well. I also assist with the creation and management of promotional copy used on packaging.

At the Daily News, I produced daily content covering a wide assortment of area high school and community athletics, including football, basketball, volleyball, soccer, baseball and softball. I also spearheaded the Daily News’ coverage of the University of West Florida’s fledgling Division II football program in Pensacola during its 2018 and 2019 seasons prior to GateHouse Media’s merger with Gannett in November 2019.

My duties at the Daily News also included regular line editing of additional newsroom copy, frequent collaboration with an Austin-based design team to curate content uniquely tailored to our readership, shared management of the publication’s social media pages and the production of multimedia content, including podcasts and photo galleries.

At OSU, I served as the sports editor of the O’Colly, OSU’s award-winning independent campus publication. On a daily basis, I oversaw and helped to train a staff of 17 aspiring writers, who covered 12 spring semester sports. In my time at the O’Colly, I covered numerous sporting events, teams and news, including the OSU equestrian team’s run to a Big 12 title in 2016 amid rumors of the sport’s impending dissolution and Brad Underwood’s lone season as the coach of the OSU men’s basketball team.

It is my goal to take what I have learned and continue improving and adding skills to my arsenal as I move forward in my career and in life.

I cannot wait to see where this journey takes me.
